Agents and notifications

luwu hooks install

This adds hooks to Claude Code (~/.claude/settings.json) and Codex (~/.codex/config.toml). They report what the agent is doing to the Luwu service on the same computer, which then:

shows the state next to the window: in luwu ls, in the dashboard and in the app, e.g. "claude · needs you";
sends a notification to your iPhone when the agent needs you (a permission or a question), is done, or hits an error.

Tap the notification to open that exact window.

Agent mode

Agent mode runs Claude Code or Codex for you on a computer and shows each step in the app as it happens:

what Claude says;
each command it runs, with the output;
each file it changes, as a diff;
anything it needs you to approve.

Instead of a terminal, you get a readable conversation with Allow once and Deny on each approval. Its questions and plans open as forms.

Start one: on a computer in the app, tap New agent session, pick a folder and say what Claude should do. From another computer: luwu agent --on <computer> new --cwd ~/code/app "fix the failing test".
Approvals: nothing runs until you allow it. Each approval can be answered once, from the app, the notification, or by typing y or n in the session's window on the computer.
It keeps going: the session lives in a tmux window of the agents session, so it outlives the app. Open it from the app later and the conversation picks up where you left it. luwu agent ls lists them.

Agent mode needs Luwu 0.2.4 or later on the computer (0.2.6 for Codex), and uses your own Claude Code or Codex login and settings there.

When you won't be notified

If you typed in that window from your phone in the last 30 seconds, you're already looking at it, so no notification is sent.

Requirements

The agent runs inside tmux, so Luwu knows which window it's in.
Agents that were running before luwu hooks install need a restart.
On the phone, allow notifications when the app asks.

luwu hooks shows what's installed; luwu hooks uninstall removes the hooks.
